5:30 pm ... Inside the house at 242 Sylvan Way in Emerald Hills! (map link)
- The house is behind Edgewood Park.
- If you don't see the mailbox, just continue past where Google Maps will think "you've arrived". Right after house 243 on the left, you'll see the mailbox of 242 Sylvan Way on the right. Head down the "Private Drive".
- Pull cars all the way forward and to the side, so we can fit as many cars side-by-side and front-to-back as possible. 1 in carport, 3 in front of garage, 2 behind them, until it's a single file row. 4 cars can also supposedly park along the street.
- Please arrive on time at 5:30. Feel free to come any time and park in the drive, if you're hiking. Enter the house any time after 5:15. You can also hang out in the yard/patio beforehand.
Beforehand ... Consider exploring Edgewood Park before we kick off !
- Park Trailmap found here
- To access trails from the house, go up the driveway and go right. Walk a few hundred yards to the 2nd yellow fire hydrant on your right. It's across from house 279. There are railroad tie steps going down, and that "secret" back entrance leads you up the hill to join the entire Edgewood Park trail system. The dirt trail is wet in some areas, just soft in most. One 4' wide creek spot to cross on rocks. Picture shown at the bottom of this page
What to bring with you:
- Journal & writing utensil
- Water bottle
- Your learning goals (for your own reference)
- Comfortable clothes (including slippers, slipper socks, cozy fleece, etc., if you would enjoy having any of those things)
- Favorite snacks/beverages (we'll provide an assortment, and if you need something special, please bring it.)
- Absolutely NO alcohol or mood-altering substances, please (except coffee!)
- A dinner offering for our Friday night potluck
- Please bring a list of all ingredients to place by your dish, so people can confidently select what works for them and avoid what doesn't.
- FYI, dietary restrictions in our group include:
- 1 vegan and 2 vegetarians (dairy/eggs ok for at least 1)
- Additional ingredients that are each avoided by at least 1 person: fruit, vegetables, high fiber, seafood, nuts, avocados, sesame seeds, soy/soybeans/soy sauce/soybean oil, gluten and dairy
- It's ok if others eat these ingredients—no need to avoid them all. Just make sure to list what's in your dish.
A note on Learning Goals
- In your coaching call, we probably brainstormed a range of ideas for how you might work on your goals. Please narrow down your list of things to work on to just 2-3 active goals you'll focus on in the beginning.
- You can certainly work on any of your goals. And, by coming with a shortened list of 2-3 things you'll pay the most attention to, it helps you identify and step into here-and-now experiments more readily and consistently. This will enhance your learning.
- You can revise your goals during the weekend
- We'll invite you to share 2-3 goals with the group Saturday morning. You can choose to publicize whichever goals you want to at that time.
If you aren't feeling well
- We hope everyone will be feeling healthy and energized! And, if you're not feeling well, here are our requests:
- If you have a cold, please plan to wear a well-fitting mask to protect others from coughs/sneezes. Please also take a Covid test before you enter the home, just to be sure.
- We'll have hand sanitizer, masks and a few extra Covid tests on hand
- If you have Covid or another serious illness, please do not come. Reach out to Jana ASAP at 650-291-1065.
We can't wait to get us all together and discover what we'll co-create this weekend!
Warm regards,
Jana & Briana
